Zios Inspired By Incan Mythology

When Animal Jam started in 2010, Animal Jam was full of secrets. In this case, some that were inspired by mythology. One of these is Zios. One of the locations in Jamaa, The Lost Temple Of Zios, was inspired by Incan Mythology.

Zios is the Sky Father and soulmate of Mira. A profuse amount of

information about him is a mystery. Replicas of Zios are shown many times throughout the game, including the Zios Fountain , the Gem Ball game next to Mira Says, the long running rug in the second room of the Chamber of Knowledge, the Mask on the wall of Jam Mart Clothing near the door, the statue in the Temple of Zios, and many other places. It was shown in "The Return of the Alphas" he was destroyed by the Phantoms and possibly the mighty Phantom Monster. He may have been killed by the phantoms' electric bolts, as the screen lights up lightning white for less than a second during the Return of the Alphas video and Zios falls. There is also a den item based off of Zios, the Zios Sculpture, which is an extremly hard to find beta. It is a big part of animal jam's culture.

History

"And so it was that the Sky father was named Zios. He created many stars and planets and set them in motion. But after eons of creation, he became lonely. So he created the Sky Mother, a blue Heron and named her Mira.

"Mira was beautiful and kind and they were very happy together. She loved Zios deeply and often told him how talented he was, encouraging him to create. Together, Zios and Mira created their masterpiece: a lush land filled with oceans, mountains, meadows, and all kinds of plants and animals. They named this special world Jamaa, and for hundreds of years, the world and its animals were at peace. But today, all is not well in Jamaa. A mysterious dark force has crept into the land, stealing away animals and ruining the beauty of Jamaa. Only you can help save the animals and restore the world to its glory. Please help, for you are Animals only hope. "

Death

Zios's death still remains a mystery. It is theorized that the phantoms killed him. However as told in the story, phantoms were formed from Mira's tears AFTER his death, contradicting the first theory. It is possible another mysterious, dark, evil force destroyed him first.

Trivia

• Zios is named and based on Zios the Incan God of the Sun. However Animal Jam Headquarters later discard this idea.

  In the game Twister, a Zios mask (possibly Zios himself) can be seen being blown toward the twister.
• To celebrate the second birthday of Jamaa, a Bronze Zios fountain was sold. A normal, slightly smaller stone one is found in the Mystery Emporium.
• In the game Gem Ball, you need to hit three Zios faces with a ball to get a jackpot.
• Zios' two stories rival eachother. The one from old AJ says he had to leave and never came back, while the one from the "Return of the Phantoms" video shows him getting destroyed by the Phantoms.
• A statue of Zios's Mask is buried in ruins, lies in the Lost Temple of Zios. If enough Jammers sleep around it, Phantoms come out.
